On Virtual Classes and Yoga

Much of my first encounters with Yoga classes began through a t.v. program called, “To Life” with Priscilla Patrick on a local PBS station in the early 1980’s. I dedicated each Tuesday and Thursday evening from 10:00-10:30 pm to my practice until the program no longer aired. As time went on with my Yoga studies, I was fortunate to learn directly from Yoga mentors to guide me towards a more skillful practice. Geeta S. Iyengar, known for her vast knowledge of teaching Yoga to Woman, states that “the path of Yoga has always existed.” (Yoga Rahasya, Volume 27, No.1, 2020). She discusses how in the olden days, pupils stayed with their Gurus and followed each of his steps.

Here we are in modern times and a Virtual Age, in a changing world with new challenges. All of our lives are being impacted by the recent Corona Virus. Studying with a Guru, live, one-on-one, may not be a choice right now. However, it is my hope that through some Virtual Class Offerings, both live and On Demand, that you are inspired to continue or start or maintain your practice and stay connected to yourself and to others. Virtual classes will be available in both live format and some prerecorded.

Just another thought….Yoga is not a remedy, but a way of life! Choose to learn and grow through Yoga!
