Donna

Donna is a nationally certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher at the Intermediate Junior Level, and an E-RYT through Yoga Alliance. Donna's interest in yoga began with at television program called "To Life" by Pricilla Patrick in the early 80's. Much gratitude and thanks is offered to teachers Kim Schwartz of the Temple of Kriya Yoga, Kathleen Wright at Garden of Yoga, Patrina Dobish of Yoga Tree Evanstons, Gabriel Halpern of Yoga Circle, and Senior Iyengar Yoga Teachers, Laurie Blakeney and Lois Steinberg, and is grateful for their continuing guidance. Donna regularly practices with all of these teachers in classes, workshops and learning intensives. Donna had the opportunity to study with Geeta Iyengar at the National Iyengar Conference in 2007, and various Senior Iyengar teachers at the "From the Heartland" conference in 2011. Donna has taught yoga and movement workshops for Educators, and has given presentations on movement and yoga at national conferences. Donna is also a National Board Certified Teacher in Early Childhood Education, a Montessori Teacher, Certified in Yoga Kids and Yoga Ed., a Certified Laban Movement Analyst through Columbia College, and an Ayurvedic Educator through Bhavana Institute.

Mike

Mike began taking classes regurlarly with Donna in 2000, and in 2003 began teacher training through the Temple of Kriya Yoga. After being introduced to talented yoga teachers, he became inspired to learn more about yoga and earned his RYT-500 at Prairie Yoga. While Donna is Mike’s first and most influential teacher, he would like to thank Kim Schwartz, Gabriel Halpern, Lori Gaspar, Kathleen Wright and Patrina Dobish for generously sharing their knowledge in classes and workshops. Mike is currently working toward his Iyengar certification. He has studied with Senior Iyengar Teacher Laurie Blakeney, has attended advanced workshops and conferences with Lois Steinberg , attended the National Iyengar Convention with Geeta Iyengar in 2007, and studied with Senior Iyengar Teachers at the From the Heartland Conference in 2011. Mike's “9-5” job includes being a Project Manager. He also enjoys organic gardening and has performed several times in community theatre. Mike lives his yoga, both on and off of the mat.
