Intro to Iyengar Yoga - This 6-week session is for those new to yoga or new to the Iyengar Method. Students gain a clear understanding of proper alignment through foundational asanas (poses) to increase strength, flexibility and inward vision. We learn to practice the asanas accurately, steadily and whole-heartedly.
Yoga Level 1 - This class is a continuation of the basic asanas, including standing asanas, forwardbends, backbends, twists and inversions. Pranayama, the science of breath, is introduced.
Yoga Level 1-2 - At this level, students will further refine and deepen their practice of asana and pranayama. These refinements increase the effects of the asanas on the entire system.
Yoga Level 2-3 - This level is suitable for continuing yoga students and yoga teachers. More advanced variations of asana, including forward bends, backbends and inversions will be practiced and refined, plus continued exploration of pranayama.
* Iyengar Yoga Mentoring is available for students and teachers interested in pursuing Iyengar Yoga Teacher Certification. For more information contact Donna at 708-217-5466.
